The different course levels of the GER
We offer German courses for all levels of the CER - Gemeinsamen Europäischen Referenzrahmens (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2). Which language course is right for you depends on your existing knowledge of German. To determine your language level, we offer you a free placement test. If you wish, you can complete the course with a language exam to receive the renowned ÖSD or Goethe certificate as proof of your language skills.

GERMAN COURSE A1
You understand familiar, everyday expressions and very simple sentences. You can introduce yourself and others and ask people questions about themselves, for example where they live, people they know, things they have. You can answer these kinds of questions and communicate in a simple way.
ELEMENTARY
GERMAN COURSE A2
You ask and answer short questions in daily business, are able to make simple statements, and are comfortable in travel situations. You understand slow and clear speech also on the phone. You read and understand simple texts, signs, and instructions. You fill in forms and write simple instructions.
INDEPENDENT
GERMAN COURSE B1
You can understand the main points when clear German is used and when it's about familiar things from work, school, etc. You can cope with most situations encountered in Germany. You can express yourself easily and coherently on familiar topics and areas of personal interest.

GERMAN COURSE B2
You can understand the main content of complex texts on specific topics. You communicate so spontaneously and fluently that a normal conversation with native speakers is possible without much effort on either side. You can express yourself clearly and in detail on a wide range of topics

GERMAN COURSE C1
You can express yourself spontaneously and fluently without having to search for clearly recognizable words more often. You can use German effectively and flexibly in social and professional life or in training and studies. You can express yourself clearly, structured, and in detail on complex issues.

You can effortlessly understand virtually anything you read or hear. You can summarize information from various written and spoken sources. You express yourself spontaneously, very fluently and accurately, and can make clear finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
